Daniel Agger #4. One of the greatest defenders to have ever played for Denmark. This is a match worn Daniel Agger #4 shirt from the International friendly match Denmark vs Rep. of Ireland, played in Parken on 22.08.2007. Rep. of Ireland won the International Friendly match 4-0 with Robbie Keane and Shane Long both scoring twice. This match worn Daniel Agger shirt was swapped with Liverpool teammate defender Steve Finnan after the final whistle.
Daniel Agger made his professional debut in 2004 with Brøndby. During his time at Brøndby he won the double in 2004/05, before realizing a childhood dream by securing a move to Liverpool in January 2006.
Agger’s stay at Liverpool lasted eight-and-a-half seasons. Sadly, many of these were cut short due to persistent injuries. His best season was the 2012/13 season, when he played 35 out of 38 Premier League games for the Reds. Agger won the League Cup and the Community Shield with Liverpool before returning to Brøndby to finish his playing career. He now manages Danish side HB Køge.
Agger was also an important figure for the Danish national team under Morten Olsen. He represented Denmark at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the 2012 Euros in Poland and Ukraine. Aggers powerful shot and heading abilities resulted in him scoring 12 goals in his 75 games for the Danish national team despite him being a centre back.
