FC Barcelona won the first leg 2-0 at Camp Nou and was trailing 0-3 at Fritz Walter Stadium and on route out of the European Cup before Jose Mari Bakero scored on 87th minute away goal to take FC Barcelona to the group stages on away goals rule and later lift the last ever European Cup trophy, beating Sampdoria 1-0 in the final after extra time at Wembley from a famous goals scored on a freekick by… the one and only Ronald Koeman!

The 1991–92 European Cup was the 37th season of the European Cup football club tournament. It was the first European Cup to have a group stage, from which the winning clubs progressed to the final. 1991–92 was also the tournament’s last edition before it was re-branded as the UEFA Champions League.
