A rare signed 1988/89 Italy #10 home long sleeve shirt from the one and only Roberto Baggio. Roberto Baggio played 56 games for Italy and scored 27 goals (7 penalties) between 1988-2004 and is the fourth highest goalscorer for his national team. Roberto Baggio is the only Italian to score in three World Cups and holds the record for most goals scored in World Cup tournaments for Italy with 9 goals alongside Paolo Rossi and Christian Vieri.

He made his debut for Italy on November 16 in a friendly against the Netherlands. The game ended with 1-0 win for Italy. The winner was scored by Gianluca Vialli after an assist by Baggio.

Baggio would go on to score his first goal for Italy in a 1-1 draw against Uruguay in a friendly. From then on, he would quickly go on to establish himself as a prolific goal scorer for Italy.

His good performances meant that he was more or less guaranteed a spot in Italy’s 1990 World Cup squad. Baggio scored in the group stage game against Czechoslovakia, which Italy won by 2-0 and secured a spot in the knockout rounds. Here Italy beat Uruguay and Ireland before losing to Argentina on penalties in the semi-finals. Baggio scored his, but Donadoni and Serena both missed.

Italy recovered well from the loss by beating English 2-1 in the third-place play-off match. Baggio capped off a fine tournament with a goal.

Baggio and Italy would go on to finish as runners-up at the 1994 World Cup. Now you can honour an Italian legend with this signed Roberto Baggio shirt.
