Lars Olsen started his career with Danish club Køge before moving to Brøndby. He spent six years with Brøndby during which he won the Danish league six times. He was also part of the Brøndby team that reached the semifinals of the 1991 UEFA Cup. Here they were knocked out by AS Roma.
Olsen would later go on to play in Turkey for Tabzonspor. Afterwards he moved to Belgian side Seraing and Swiss Basel before returning to Brøndby in 1996.
Lars Olsen was an important player the Danish national team as well. He won 94 caps for Denmark and scored four times.
After his playing career he managed various teams in Denmark as well as the Faroe Island national team.
