A rare Liverpool FC Club World Club shirt! This Liverpool FC Divock Origi #27 white away shirt is from the FIFA Club World Cup 2020/21 – the very first one that Liverpool have ever won! The shirt was prepared for Divock Origi but not used as Liverpool played all FIFA Club World Cup games in the red home shirt. Liverpool FC won FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in history beating Flamengo 1-0 in the final after extra time. The match was played at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha on 21 December 2019.
Liverpool had qualified for the 2019 Club World Cup by winning the 2018/19 Champions League final against Tottenham by 2-0. Divock Origi played an important part in Liverpool’s triumph. He scored two goals in the 4-0 win in the second leg of the semi-finals against Barcelona which secured 4-3 win on aggregate. He also scored Liverpool’s second in the 2-0 win against Tottenham in the final.
Liverpool entered the 2019 Club World Cup at the semi-final stage where they played Mexican side Monterrey. That ended with a 2-1 win for Liverpool. In the final they faced off against Brazilian giants Flamengo and won 1-0 in extra time after a goal by Roberto Firmino. Firmino was subbed off after the first half of extra time for Divock Origi.
Origi left Liverpool for AC Milan ahead of the 2022/23 season in search of regular playing time. However, he remains a hugely popular figure at Anfield having scored some extremely important goals for the Reds.
