Unused Cafu #2 AC Milan Champions League 2004/05

Probably the best right back of all time. A rare unused  Cafu #2 AC Milan gold away Champions League shirt from 2004/05. The AC Milan gold away shirt was prepared to be worn by AC Milan in for the Champions League away game to PSV Eindhoven but UEFA ordered AC Milan to play in their normal black and red home shirt.

The first leg of the semi-finals had ended with a 2-0 Milan win at San Siro. In the return fixture it looked as though it was head for extra time, until Massimo Ambrosini scored a late goal for Milan. PSV did make it 3-1 shortly thereafter, but the away goals rule meant, at Milan were through to the final. That was of course the famous Istanbul final against Liverpool.

Cafu is voted as the best right back of all time having a hugely successful career with AC Milan and Brazil. He is the most-capped Brazilian player of all time with 142 appearances, including a record 20 World Cup games! He has won two World Cups in 1994 and 2002. What a player!

The Brazilian made a total of 161 appearances over five seasons for AC Milan before ending his career in 2008. During his time in Milan, he managed to win Serie A, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup, and Supercoppa Italiana. He was part of a solid defence alongside players such as Paolo Maldini.

Cafu is still fondly remembered in Milan, and whenever a right back also shows great skill in the attacking build-up, they are often compared to Cafu.
