This matchworn shirt is a very special Michel #8 Real Madrid shirt from La Liga season 1995/96. Michel was an instrumental player for Real Madrid with 404 appearances scoring 97 times! He also represented Spain 66 times scoring 21 goals. Amazing player and shirt for the right collector!

The 1995/96 season was Michel’s final season at Real Madrid before he went on to end his career playing for Mexican side Celaya. During this season the Real Madrid team also had stars such as Fernando Redondo, Manolo Sanchís, and the youngster Raúl.

Prior to that Michal had spent his entire career with Real Madrid joining the club’s academy at the age of 13. He made his debut in 1982 in a game against CD Castellón scoring one of the goals in a 2-1 win.

Michael was an extremely consistent performer and from the 1985/86 to 1993/94 season he always managed at least 31 league games.

Throughout his time at Real Madrid Michel won six Spanish championships, two Copa del Reys and two UEFA Cups. In 1986 he won the La Liga Spanish Player of the Year award.

During his final season at Madrid from which this matchworn Real Madrid shirt stems, Michel played 33 La Liga games and scored six goals.

He still well known for an incident involving Real Valladolid’s Carlos Valderrama in 1988. While marking Valderrama Michel tried to put the Colombian off by grabbing his privates.

Michel has later gone on to have a successful career as a manager. He has managed clubs such as Olympiacos, Sevilla, Marseille, and Getafe.
